Rhode Island Colleges Guide

Rhode Island is known as the ocean state, but should be known as the dwarf state as it is the smallest state by area within the country. Due to this small size and marginally large population, Rhode Island is the second densest state in the United States. Regardless of its small scale, Rhode Island has an interesting history; in recent times it was the organizational center of the Patriarca crime family, which controlled much of New England's illicit activities.

Providence is Rhode Island's largest city, and is home to most of its economic stalwarts; Women and Infants Hospital, Hasbro Children's Hospital, and MetLife. Educationally, Rhode Island can be said to have the most prestige per square mile, as it is home to an Ivy League school in Brown University. Students pursuing degrees in business, information technology, and healthcare will certainly find their education put to good use through gainful employment in Rhode Island.
