Northern Marianas College and Degree Information

Officially known as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the territory is a commonwealth of the United States, which means that it is a United States territory but maintains its own sovereign government. The climate of the islands is generally tropical, and the landscape offers serene views of nature in many places. The capital of the Northern Mariana Islands (Northern Marianas) is the island of Saipan, and it is home to 90% of the Northern Marianas' population (approximately 87,000). The entire territory includes a total of 15 islands, of which only three have significant populations, and two more have fewer than ten residents each.

The Northern Mariana Islands' economy revolves mainly around United States assistance and development, tourism, and the disintegrating garment industry. Education in the territory is provided among all grade levels, and there is one college in the area called Northern Marianas College. Most students who choose to pursue higher education do so through United States government grants allowing them to attend school abroad.
