About Hawaii Colleges & Universities

Hawaii is a dream getaway for a vacation, and a paradise for extended stay. It boasts beautiful tropical beaches, lush landscapes, and a generally relaxed carefree attitude found throughout the islands. This state's economy mainly revolves around tourism, with the industry accounting for 23.5% of the state's GDP despite attempts to diversify. Due to this, many careers that are in demand are tied into the industry, such as airline engineering and hotel management.

The state's capital and largest city, Honolulu, is the center of business development. Although the state's taxes are high relative to the mainland, businesses are still establishing themselves in this considerably new market. Hawaii's largest employers include Aloha Airlines, Queens Medical Center, and the Honolulu Police Department. A college education can be applied towards many industries in Hawaii, mainly those involved with tourism.
