Just Get Your Degree

Many people just want you to go to college just because of how the experience will change you as a person. There's no doubt college will do this; you’ll grow up, learn how to live away from your parents and just gradually learn how the real world operates. However, while this experience will be completely invaluable to you as you grow as a person, just the degree you earn at the end of your college journey will probably be worth more. Personality is worth a lot to you, but money is worth a whole lot more.

Unless you have a tremendous amount of real life experience in some kind of field, you’re probably going to need a college degree in today’s world to be able to get by. They aren’t just going to hire high school graduates to run companies or even just work any kind of important job. While nepotism can sometimes overrule that idea, you usually will have an idea beforehand if that's the case. And it's usually not. Naturally, they’re going to hire the more qualified applicants and more than likely, those people, have a very highly achieved degree that’s worth more than all of your real life experience.

Just getting a college degree is one of the most important things you can do in today’s world. People are losing their jobs at an alarming rate and the economy is showing no signs of recovery. Even some of the more qualified people are being laid off from their jobs simply because the company’s don’t have the money they once did. So really what kind of chance do you have of getting a great job if you have no degree at all? Unskilled, under qualified high school graduates are probably going to be the first to go and the only reason they may not be is because they’re not making enough money for it to matter. Neither of those options are very good for anyone.

Just make sure that when you go to college you get whatever degree you have set your sights on. Don’t let all the partying and fun get in the way of your education which, believe it or not, is the chief reason that you are there. Without that degree, you’ll just be another random face in the crowd who’s going to have to work at a construction site to support your family. Degrees are some of the most valuable things in the world today, so make sure you get yours. Nobody wants to be stuck making minimum wage at McDonald's forever...
