3 Tips to Time Management

We could all use some extra time is our days, but the problem is time is not very accommodating. You have to work your schedule to optimize your time, but there always seems to be a shortage on this very important part of the day. As a recent college student, I have found some interesting ways to make sure you get the most out of your days and maybe make it possible to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend before the hectic schedule begins again. The following will give you a few pointers that will help you pack more into your day in hopefully less time.

1. Make a list – It is very important for your day to start with a list of everything that you hope to get done before you hit the sack. Once you have created your list, see what items can be done at the same time. For example, if you have to do laundry and run errands put the load of laundry in so it is going while you are out. The point is to get at much done at any given moment as possible.

2. Fast-paced music – If you are doing things at home, try to put on some music with a fast beat to try and keep up your energy. Listening to the TV or slow music could cause you to either sit down and watch TV or move at a slower pace. Try to keep up with the beat of the music.

3. Sections – Do your list in ordered sections. If you have a lot to do at home, try to get everything done there before you head out or vice versa. Taking care of everything in sections can help you save time. If you have a lot to do out of the house, maybe tackle those items first while something such as the dishes are laundry are going at home. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off does not maximize your time and this can happen if you do not organize your list according to what needs to get done and where. Try it out and see if this method works for you.
