4 Homework Tips

After going to class and listening to a professor lecture you anywhere from 90 to 180 minutes the last thing you want to do is leave class only to continue on with the lesson by doing homework. This method works for some students as they like to get their homework done and out of the way. Others like to take a break for a few hours or a few days, and some even like to pretend that the homework doesn’t apply to them and they forget about it altogether. The following tips will help you get into a better pattern with your homework if that is what you are looking for.

1. Get Organized – Get all of your papers together and make sure you have your syllabus. Following the syllabus unless the professors advise you otherwise is a good way to stay on track. It I shard to do the work when you have no idea what to do. Make sure you write down any extra assignments your professor informs you of so you know exactly what you have to do.

2. Make a list – Write out a detailed list organized by class of what assignments are due for your next session. This will allow you to see everything that needs to be done and how to incorporate the assignments into your day.

3. One at a time – Start off with your most recent assignments. Make sure you complete it before moving on to the next. Trying to do too much at once can make you become confused and disorganized. Once you have completed the first class, move on to the next.
